    This is my first time having chicks in a brooder in the house. Have only had raised by broody hen before. I have tried towels and paper towels and not working great. Are wood chips the answer? If so, is there a certain type to get or avoid?

    Roo or Pullet? 8 Weeks Old

    My broody hatched a chick and am looking for the community opinion on gender. The father is a Speckled Sussex and the mother is either a Speckled Sussex or Buff Orpington (a Buff went broody and sat on 20 eggs, so no idea who laid it.) It is about 8 weeks old (Mama still hasn't weaned it.)...
