Ok, so I bought 8 hens about 6 months ago. 2 "Americauna", two Australorps, 2 Speckled Sussex, and two Partridge Rock. So far all of the breeds have been correct besides one. I'm honesty not sure if this is an americauna or an Easter egger. Help!
I have 8 young hens, and only 3 are laying yet. Tonight I cracked open 11 eggs and all of them had double yolks. Why is this happening? Thanks everybody!
Ok, so I'm kind of new to raising chickens, and I just started to get my first eggs about 2 weeks ago. I've been seeing these white dots in the yolks, but don't know if they are fertilized or not. I have 8 hens and no roosters, so this is kind of puzzling to me. If you need better pictures...
I am going to try to get some coturnix quail this fall. I live in a family of 7 and we eat a lot of eggs. I was wondering how many quail I should get to provide enough for my family, and sell a few for profit. I can build the pen any size. Thank you all.
We all talk about our chickens on here, but we rarely, if ever, get to show off our whole flock. Share a pic of your birds, and tell a favorite story if you want to!
I am already the proud owner of 8 hens, (and looking to add more), but my grandfather used to raise quail, and they have always interested me. I was wondering where I could order jumbo coturnix for meat and eggs. (I live in north FL)
