    Swollen chicken foot

We have bees so I’m wondering if this is a bee sting. I cannot find a hole or holes but that black circle bruise reminds me if a bee sting. This was not there yesterday. I gave her a bath yesterday and would have noticed. I saw her limping this morning so this is what I saw. Please advise. Can...

    Broody silkie

I’m super new to chickens. We got our chicks last March. my little pullet (10 months) wants to be a mommy. She has the worlds smallest eggs. She can comfortably fit two of my other girls eggs under her. I’d say those are large-xl in size. I ‘could’ get my silkie some fertile duck eggs to hatch...

    Shell-less egg

hello. I had a hen lay this am -about 9. I just went out to let my girls free range and she was in the nest box again... I left her alone and she eventually came out. She had layed a Shell-less egg at about 7 pm. She was normal before and after. Was it shell-less because she already layed this...

    New to chickens...

hello. I read that hens that are getting close to laying will show signs of maturity. One of which is ‘bracing’. Do Roos also brace? Or is this just a hen behavior???

    Black bugs on white silkies

They were just on the surface of their feathers. I saw none on any other birds. But the white made them easy to spot. They look like fleas but slightly rounder... I’m wondering if they just landed on them. Again. They didn’t seem to be under the feathers (on their skin) just sitting on top...

they’re about 3 months old. The whiter one barely has any kind of comb but the darker one has the rose comb and is developing wattles.

    Silkie sexing

I am pretty sure the younger one (less fluff on head) is a cockerel. He has the typical spike comb appearance. He’s about two-three weeks younger than my other silkie and has already surpassed the others weight. My other silkie I believe to be a pullet... any ideas? I read it’s pretty...

    Possibly black laced wyandottes??

Hello, these two chickens were from the same hatchery. I believe they are black laced wyandottes, and I believe I most likely have a pullet and cockerel... can anyone confirm or deny this? These chickens are approximately 8 weeks old. And were ‘wild colored’ as chicks.

    New to chickens

hello. My family has six chickens. We got them from TSC. We have two barred rocks, two white silkies, and two ....??? I believe these mystery chickens are black laced wyandottes. We love these chickens. We wanted them as pets and for their eggs, and we wanted pullets only. I’m quite certain we...
