I think my Feed store accidentally gave me a Cornish cross but I’m attached to it now and can’t give it up. I’ve heard of them living for years if given the right diet. What do I need to feed my bird to help it survive? I do not want to kill her.
I live in Texas by Fort Worth and was wondering about how much it would cost to ship 20-25 ducklings to me. I’m ordering some welsh Harlequins. :jumpy
Has anyone here ever ordered from metzer farms? If so what was your experience, did the ducklings arrive healthy? How expensive was shipping( if...
My 3 year old welsh harlequin Jenny was attacked through her inclosure twice by a bobcat. 2 of my ducks got killed on New Year’s Day and Jenny got her leg scratched. She was drooling and not eating but began to perk up and start eating, but after the second attack when her same leg got scratched...
I can not get my duck to the vet at this time as my car is being repaired. I’m am VERY WORRIED as this is my favorite duck.
She is a 3yr old welsh Harlequin she is just drink a lot of water and standing. She is still moving and tried to escape me picking her up. I just walked outside and saw...
Mom abandoned nest so I moved them under a heat lamp. So far one has hatched and one is trying to. It hasn’t made a pipping hole but started to break the egg! It was upside down when I first found it and I turned it the right way but I’m scared it needs help. It been a few hours like that...
We had a hen go broody but when the eggs got close to hatching time she gave up and left the eggs. I figured she would come back but she lost interest in them. I moved them under a heat lamp and so far one egg has hatched.
I put the eggs in there not realizing that they could not be turned...
My welsh Harlequin Jenny recently went broody on a clutch of about 20 eggs. The temperature has been getting up to 98’ degrees and I had some eggs that a hen abandoned hatch after 3 days of her not sitting on them. That brings me to my question, can the eggs still hatch if she didn’t sit on them...
I recently noticed my Roo’s foot is swollen. It looks to me like Bumble foot. I soaked his foot in warm bath water with Espom salt added to it. This brought the swelling down slightly. I was going to try and get the kernel part out of his foot but noticed it’s not raised on the foot, if anything...
I have decided to dedicate this thread to Plippers. She passed away last night.
Plippers’s story-
I adopted Plippers from some one who contacted me saying that I could have his 8 ducks for free if I took them all. Having been looking for ducks I decided to get them. When I got there all 8...
My mama hen just hatched chicks and is still sitting on the nest trying to hatch the rest of the eggs ( some chickens layed eggs in there with her while she was broody) and I saw one move inside an egg while candling so I’m letting her stay on the nest. I’ve been bringing them water but don’t...
:DFirst of all I want to say that I’m SO PROUD of my hen, Little Yellow, for hatching these chicks. I check on her every night to see how she is doing and saw no chicks, this morning however there was chicks!!! :jumpy
What should I do next? She hasn’t gotten out of her nest which is above the...
I adopted 8 sick ducks recently and they are starting to improve. The previous owner kept them in a dirt patch with no water. They lost their ability to make normal duck noises but seem to be regaining that.
I have one though that is just crooked!
It walks around and swims just fine. He also...
I recently got some new ducks, I don’t know if anyone saw the post but they currently cannot quack as the previous owner did not properly care for them. I’m trying to figure out the breed and gender of them all as I do not need any more males. There is 8 of them and they are three months old...
I recently adopted 8 ducks that the owner was giving away for free. The ducks had no pool just a small dish of water and the ground was dirt. They are not quacking and when I looked at their poop it was dirt in small amounts of water. I have given them two plastic pools one deep enough for them...
