    Gemma

Unfortunately this past Spring my baby Gemma lost her mate, Chewy, to a coyote. Luckily she had a duck boyfriend on the side to keep her company. 😜 And this duck, Lily Monster, is head over heels for her. So for anyone with that question, yes a duck and goose can bond.

    Happy Holidays

I wanted to post this before the holidays but we'll just got too busy. But hope this year is better to everyone than last year was!

Something seriously wrong with this duck.

Boris followed me to the lower end of our property because he can't stand being without a human and I was taking too long to get back to the house. Then, of course, I saw a fox in the field and couldn't let him down there with his lazy, slow, fat butt. Have you every tried to carry a full grown...

    Robbery Bob

Serious question. Does anyone else have a turkey that is a thief? My Tom steals EVERYTHING. Halloween decorations, yes. Shoes, yes. Keys, yes. Kids toys, yes. Pool goggles, yes. Garden gnomes, yes. Dog leash, yes. Clothes, yes... Let me tell ya, you haven't lived till you have to chase your...

    Always waiting

These two are always waiting for me on their railing. Yes the railings were installed for Guineas on our porch and yes there is a higher perch on the porch farther under the roof for them as well in the event of inclimate weather 😂

Battle with Botulism and Niacin Deficiency

Miss Lady Luck the duck came to us barely able to move, severely under weight, dirty, smelly, and scared. I was severely bummed when I notice the tell tale diarrhea, limp neck, and eye issues that accompany Botulism but according to her previous owner she had been like that for four or five...

    Royal Palms

So, looks like I am coming into some Royal Palm Poults. Anything that I need to know that is special to this breed. My family raised Turkeys when I was a girl but not Royal Palm

    Thwarted Hawk Attack

So, a month ago I started seeing a Red Shouldered Hawk (which are stunning btw) hanging around near the main area where my birds free range. I was a bit concerned because while we have Cooper's, Sharp Shinned, and Red tails around as well the first two are generally too small to try to take...

    Help

Hey! Hope everyone had a great holiday... Was hoping I could get some help. My daughter's peahen, 7 months old, literally just dropped dead last night during the night. There were no symptoms, no signs, no change in anything. Nothing got a hole of it either. It is housed with another hen who is...

    Male or Female

Can someone please help me figure out what sex these two are? This is our first time raising peafowl. They were a birthday present for my daughter. I have spent countless hours reading so much information on them and combing through pictures trying to figure it out. When I think I've made my...

    Geese stung by bees

Does anyone have any experience with bee stings and their geese? Both of my Africans got stung multiple times by Honey Bees. They are both adults. The goose is okay acting fine just favoring her foot. The Gander immediately started limping and then laid down and was acting very tired. I pulled 5...

    Just wanted to share

So I was away for a day and a half and what a welcome I had when I got back! My ducks and Guineas obviously missed me but my two African geese almost dove intointo truck lol. Gemma climbed me like a tree when I bent down to love on her and the Gander, Chewy, and my hubby snapped this perfect...
