    Lemon cuckoo or buff barred?

So, apart from a wyandotte bantam crele project, I have also started another little project. (For some reason I like colours that have not been recognized by our national federation yet...) I put a wyandotte buff barred or lemon cuckoo rooster (is there a difference?) with a buff wyandotte...

    Chicks on e+?

Can anyone just by looking at the colour of my chicks determine what gene they are on? How sure can I be that this is the wildtype e+ colour?

    Buff laced wyandotte bantams

Hello, what do you breeders think is the best way to breed buff laced wyandotte bantams? Here in Belgium it is a colour that is unfortunately getting rarer. Take into account that I only have space for one small flock, let's say 1 × 4 or so. 1. A mixed flock gold laced x buff laced Result...

    Wyandotte bantams' fertility

Who breeds wyandotte bantams and can tell me whether they trim the fluff around the vent to increase fertility or not. Some breeders apparently trim above the pullet's vent and below the cockerel's. Some say it's not worth the effort. Any first hand experience here?

    Condensation: extra vent?

Hello, I built some identical chicken coops. The idea was: - little chance for chicken mites - easy to clean - dark to keep the rooster quiet - automatic door - lasting I used coated plywood, which is absolutely rainproof and hard-wearing. However, it doesn't "breathe". I am aware ventilation...

    Genetics buff barred

Hi there, I have a buff barred wyandotte rooster. He has a buff barred tail too, not black. I believe he's on eWh. He is also very light, which tells me he has the B/B gene. I have a buff hen available which is ideal to breed buff barred, both male and female. I also have a barred hen (cuckoo)...

    Still doubting...

Okay, here I go again These two Wyandotte bantams are almost 15 weeks old. I have posted pictures of them before and have kept them because they were said to be pullets. Can you still confirm this? It's just that they are so much larger than my other pullets of the same age. They are even...

    Silver blue laced wyandotte gender?

Still unsure about this one's gender. He or she is a little more than 11 weeks. Pullet or cockerel?

    Hen or roo?

14 chicks, 10 roosters: I have been quite unfortunate. The cocks are leaving by the end of the week. What about these two? Are they definitely male?

    Wyandotte chicks: pullets or cockerels?

Hi there, these Wyandotte bantams are about 7 weeks now. I have 14 in all, but these 6 keep me puzzled somehow. I keep doubting about their gender. What are your guesses?

    Hello from Flanders

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I live in Flanders, the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. I've had chickens for about 6 years now. Since last year I've begun to breed Wyandottes on a very small scale. So, I'm gradually learning more and more about chickens. Currently, I have 10 Wyandotte bantams and...
