I want better than hatchery quality. I want American standard Buff Orpingtons, and bearded Russian Orloffs.
If you can provide either shipped to 85936, please let me know!
If you are within a couple hundred miles of 85936, I might drive to pick them up.
Would be willing to get day old...
Hi everyone,
I have an older hen. To be honest, I don't know how old, I just know her previous owner's mother said, "Oh, my gosh, is she still laying?".
She is a beautiful, sweet hen and I want to have more of her, so I tried to hatch three of her eggs. None made it past about day 8 (judging...
I have concerns about my rooster, i.e. do you see anything that does not meet breed standards? He's 7 Months old, if that makes a difference. If you KNOW Buff Orpingtons, please comment.
My girls (and my boy) have black spots that weren't there before. Is it fowl pox? Here are some Pics from a week ago along with pics from today:

The cockerel isn't going to have it. He goes after the...
This time, it was my dog, not the neighbor's. She had been around the chickens plenty of times, but I guess she was bored, got loose and decided to work them over.
4 - with minor or no injuries
1 - has been completely skinned on her left side (the "alpha hen" named Colonel mentioned here...
Day before yesterday, my neighbor's dogs (once again) visited my flock. The cops were called and I thoroughly bitched out my neighbor about leash laws and that if I saw their dog again, it would be killed.
Anyways, they were able to get ahold of three hens. One was just slightly plucked, no...
Let me preface this by: I recently decided to get chickens after not having any since I was a kid (30+ years).
About 5 days ago, my cousin gave me six hens to go with my single surviving pullet (thanks neighbors, for not following leash laws).
Anyway, one of the hens is (I believe) an older...
