I live in south central Mississippi. We have pretty mild winters. I have 5 hens and 2 toms. I live in the country on about 30 acres. My turkeys free range until early spring and then go to breeding pens. I found one of my hens today sitting on a clutch of 13 eggs!! I noticed she had been going...
One of my poults has swollen eyes and runny mucus from its nostrils. All the others look fine. I went ahead and put the sick in a brooder by itself. What might this be?
What luck. Ran up on this poult from a small town animal trade day here in south Mississippi. The gentleman didn’t know what kind it was. Nice addition to my gene pool. Was told it is probably b’b’ Ccg Rr Pnpn and after research I agree. Hopefully it will turn out pnpn.
I’m new to quail, bought 10 coturnix a week ago that had supposedly just started laying. Got them home, had three eggs that day. They have not laid another egg. I am feeding them a game bird feed that is 30% protein and 1.50% calcium and I add some chick grit. Anything else I can do. Any advice...
