It has been a couple of months since I got my chicks, anyone want to guess what the all white chicken is? I ordered silver, brown laced and Columbian wyandottes. This one was thrown in I have no idea what it is but hope it is a female as I really like it
I put the chicks in the coop this am, I have the coop at 80 degrees, thanks to a heat lamp. I will open the door to the covered and enclosed run this afternoon once they get used to the coop. Tonight I will keep the lamp on and turn the milk house heater to low to make sure it stays at least...
The girls are getting big and growing crowded in their brooder, They are 4 1/2 weeks old, Do you think they are big enough to go out in their outdoor coop. Low temps will be in mid 40's Highs will be in the 60's and 70's for the next 10 days.
The Ladies are 3 weeks old today, to celebrate they got wood chips instead of paper towel. I am hoping to put them in the outdoor coop and covered run during memorial day weekend. I think they are feathering out nicely
The Ladies are 1 week old today and are really growing. 2 had pasty butt, I got them on Wednesday so I am hoping it will go away. I got 3 extras, can't wait to see what they are.
Hi I received 3 day old chicks on Wednesday and regret not getting 3 light Brahma chicks. If I can find them, can I introduce them with my chicks without any problems or do I need to slowly introduce them, thanks
Hi Everyone, I received my Chickens on Wednesday and today I noticed one had a pasty butt, I checked and 3 our of 12 had pasty butts. They are under a red heat lamp temp is 95 and the coolest part of the run is 70. I have probiotics ( saveachick) in their water. They all seem to be eating and...
My Chicks arrived this morning at 5:30am. Cackle hatchery included 3 extras probably males. They all see pretty healthy, one is a little out of it but she is drinking and eating.
My chicks have shipped today from Cackle. Hoping I get them Wednesday, I thought the weather would be warm by now, it was last week. Wish me luck. I can't post directly to the Wisconsin Cheeseheads thread, things have changed in my 6 year absence.
After waiting 2 months, my chicks are finally going to hatch and ship tomorrow. I am a bit worried, I thought I waited long enough for it to warm up but temps will be about 34 for the next three nights and highs in the 50's I ordered 9 chicks from Cackle hatchery, they are a bit far from...
Well Just cleaned out my coop will run and get bedding soon.. This time I think I want Columbian Wyandottes. Is it too early ( cold to ship) to Wisconsin. Which hatcheries do you recommend. I normally us Abendroth Hatchies but they do not carry the Colombians. Thanks
Former backyard chicken raiser, want to get back into the hobby. I tried to log in under my old name and can't. Was active in Wisconsin Cheeseheads about 5 years ago but now can't seem to find the section.
Hi everyone, I am new here but have been raising chickens for about 5 years. Here is my question, is there a calm breed of bantams. I had Japanese bantams about 4 years ago and they were so flighty when I came into the coop and run they would fly out of the run and It would take sometimes days...
