    Broken vs dislocated leg fix

Hi, I have a hen who started limping. Checked for bumble foot and none seen. Eventually it turned into inability to walk and or use her left leg. She hops around a bit to get to food, water or shelter. I don't know if there are any Avian vets in my area and my regular vet definitely doesn't...

Help, what is this and how do I treat?

I went out to feed my flock this morning, and my little itty bitty Orpington who always greets me wasn't there. So I pour the food in the feeder, and look in the coop to see if she was in there. She was huddled in the corner with her wings droopy. She barely made a fuss when I picked her up...

Do I need to Cull, or can it get better?

I have a Polish hen that recently had bumble foot. Did the surgery, and things were going great. She was out free ranging, on top of the coop after two days, her fav spot to sleep. Yesterday when I got home from work, and went to grab her to change the bandage, I found her on the floor of the...

I brought my Polish hen today to give her a butt bath. She's had poo stuck to her lately, then I noticed her foot looked like this. What is it, and how do I treat?

    Supposed to be Buff Orpington

This little pullet is going to be 9 weeks tomorrow. She weighs maybe 1 pound if that. From what I've seen of Orpingtons, they seem to grow fairly fast and are fairly large. Any idea why she's so small? Is she really a buff Orpington? She's maybe 6 inches tall.

    Runny poo

Hi there, Recently I've had a few of my young birds 3-4 months have some runny poo. I started feeding medicated food, and did a 5 day course of corid in the water. One of my older hens 15 months or so has orangeish runny poo. What else should I be doing?

Can mulch be used as bedding?

I had 4 trees come down in a storm on Friday. As part of the clean up I have a bunch of mulch now. It's poplar and red oak trees. Can this be used as bedding in the run, or coop? Not sure if this is the proper forum or not.

Can I use dish washing liquid to clean their water dish? Not sure if residue can hurt them. I noticed some black stuff growing near thr bottom of the waterer, and I want to clean it properly. For now I've washed it with hot water, and added a splash of ACV.
