Ok guys we just tried to hatch out a new bunch this year. They hatched on the 18th-19th and had a survival rate of 5 out of the 9 (two eggs didn't hatch and two had splayed legs and did not make it).
I'm worried that we are going to get roosters again so I'd like to do another hatch to hopefully...
What do you all do with Extra Roosters? We have 5 from a hatch of 8.
We are giving one to a friend and probably keeping one ourselves to replace the older rooster.
Our plan is to probably eat the others but how do you go about raising them? as 4 roosters in a coop wouldn't be a good thing.

Hey all, we got these 8 Black Australorp chickens around Easter from our local fleet supply. Some days we think she's a hen and other days we are SURE he's a rooster. I guess only time will really tell but what do you all think?

Not sure if this should be posted here or not but yesterday I moved my chicks to a new enclosure (a large dog kennel). I had to do something after I came home and found one of my chicks sitting on top of the brooder (hope that's the right terminology).
