I have a silkie chick that has wry neck. It is to the point it's head is all the way under its belly and it cannot walk forward just backward. It also will not eat solid. It does not open its eyes or want to drink water.
For the past 5 days I give it egg yolks with cinnamon and nutri-drench...
My roo is acting funny. His poop has a strange odor and does not look normal. Can anyone tell by looking at the poo possible issues he might be having?
What would happen if I bred a pure silkie roo with a pure show quality bantam cochin? Would the result be a satin or do satin only come from smooth frizzled. To get satins should I get a frizzled bantam cochin?
I was told a roo. I dont care either way just wondering. Was born in April 2020. No crowing yet and gets picked on does not stand up for itself. Very quiet.
I am very aware that it is super early to tell and that it is best to wait for a crow or an egg but I love hearing everyone's opinions when I get new chicks and then to compare them to the result. So purely for my entertainment do you all think these are roos or pullets? I kind of hope at least...
Got this little one this weekend. I checked the wings and the feet and was sure I got a hen but its personality has me thinking otherwise. Any guesses?
I got this gorgeous Orpington hen today. They called her a chocolate lavender. I haven’t seen anything like it an was wondering if that is the correct terminology for her color. I don know if you can tell by the pictures but her neck and the tips of her feathers are brown.
So little back story. Bought this chicken from the local 4H we all thought it was a female. I also bought the black pullet (profile pic). The chicken in question has developed significantly fast then it's black sibling, in every aspect. It's feet are at least twice the size of any of my other...
I have no idea what’s happening with my buff Orpington. She’s my favorite so I’m sad.
Here’s what I do know...
1. I have two laying hens that typically lay an egg each everyday with each taking 1 day off a week.
2. Since Friday I am only getting 1 egg a day.
3. My buff Orpington sat in the...
I have this pretty girl and she doesn’t seem to have any comb. I’m just wondering if it will turn red as she matures like my other chickens or no. I’m new to this chicken thing this is my first flock.
So I was pretty sure this was a female because of the small comb and two distinct layers of feathers on the wings but I read on another post that long tails mean roosters?!?!?!?! Freaking out a little! HELP!
I am new to this forum and new to the chicken world. I have 4 chickens. A buff Orpington, an unknown mix, Olive Eggers, and possible Easter egger. Excited to learn new things.
I got these two pullets from the local 4H but wasn’t told an age. Any way to estimate or does anyone have a guess? Just want to know so I can track when they will start laying.
