I hatched some eggs a few weeks ago and sold the chicks. The person that purchased them asked if she could return one chick that had a splayed leg and exchange it for another chick. Now that several weeks have gone by, how can I help this chick slowly repair her splayed leg? Is it even possible...
I swear the egg production has increased almost double since hanging curtains in both my coops! This was such a fun project! I used an old tablecloth I already had on hand and tied them back with twine. My hens were immediately interested!
Can anyone help me with the breed of this hen? She's one of 15 I ordered from a hatchery last spring. She doesn't look like anything I actually ordered.
My husband recently completed our 16'x32' run and added an additional coop. I have the original coop on one end. It was too small for my flock. Adding an 8x8 coop on the opposite end added so much more space for them and they love it!
I had a friend share her knowledge about using the “deep litter” method in her chicken coop. I’ve been doing it as well and wondered if anyone else uses this method? Is it better for the chickens, or should I go back to my original method of cleaning the coop every week?
