Show me your Sultan crosses!!
Please state the cross whenever known (e.g. Sultan (Female) x Barred Rock (male)) and if known where you purchased your Turkish Sultan stock.
(Trying to parse out recessive/vs. dominant white sultan sources in particular)
Anyone have photos of the following crosses (any age)?

Spangled Orloff x Salmon Faverolles
Spangled Orloff x Sicilian Buttercup

Planning on making these crosses in the spring so hopefully...
Sicily is a rich source of ancient Mediterranean poultry genetics. Here’s a tour of the four native Sicilian breeds you’ll run into- Siciliana (Coronata), Cornuta di Caltanissetta, Nostrana delle Madonie, and Valplatani- plus their famous export cousin, the Sicilian Buttercup.

Wanted to get a discussion started about any color genes in modern chicken breeds which may derive from non-red jungle fowl- namely Grey, Ceylon/Sri Lankan, and Green jungle fowl.
Most of the time when we talk about chicken alleles that don’t fit the wild-type red jungle fowl version we label...
Does anyone know if someone has combined dun/khaki and chocolate in one bird? I am wondering how this would look. I am assuming that since chocolate and 1 copy of dun both make a dark brown bird, that combined they might make a nice medium chocolate tone? Or maybe it would look more like 2...
Hi everyone. Saw a few birds of a Russian bantam breed posted on Russian website and have never seen this color pattern before. I am not sure if this is a variant of a type of mottled, a modification of mottled with other genes, or something else altogether. I have never seen large white...
This is my first time incubating eggs and I am so excited! I live in New Jersey and purchased 8 different sets of chicken eggs shipped from 8 different sellers on eBay. Some of the eggs were delayed in the mail, so I put the majority of the eggs in the incubators on April 19th and then added...
RARE & BEAUTIFUL Breeds available soon!
I am located in Union County, NJ and have been keeping chickens since 1999. I just started incubating a batch of eggs purchased online and will have lots available assuming I get a good hatch. I plan on vaccinating them for Marek’s disease as well...
I am hatching a cross I bought online between an Ayam Cemani rooster and Easter Egger hens. The seller sent me photos of the hens.

These are my thoughts: All of them seem to have the Bl blue dilution gene-

Hello everyone!
I am expecting Ebay-bought chicken hatching eggs next week. This is the first time I have hatched my own eggs and I have been doing a lot of reading! Excited but nervous as well.
One thing I haven't found much info about- I am getting eggs shipped from a few different sellers...
Hey everyone. This is a very specific request but I am in search of two kinds of hybrids, if anyone has these:
1) Egyptian Fayoumi rooster with Rhode Island Red hen
2) Ayam Cemani crosses. These can be either F1 (first generation crosses)- Ayam Cemani parent and other parent-
OR second...
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share some pictures of chickens from my trip in February (2020). Lots of different types- gamefowl, farm-type, feral, and bantams!

Hi everyone,
Anyone from New Jersey or the surrounding area know places in NJ, PA, or NY where you can buy chicks.
I am looking for everything from Feed Stores that stock chicks to Private specialty breeders in this area.
Also NJ feed stores in general (even if they don't stocks chicks) to buy...
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows the color genetics of spangled Orloffs?
Are they eWh, mh, mo ?
In most pictures of roosters they seem to have a black breast so I’m guessing they don’t have Co or Db but I’ve also seen a pic or two where they might have had a red breast.
Hey everyone-
I’d like to incorporate chocolate and/or dun genes into a multipurpose/egg-laying stock and was wondering what breeds mighthave these genes.
so far I have only seen chocolate Orpingtons being sold online which contain the choc gene but nothing comparable for the dun/fawn gene...
