    Vent gleet or bacterial infection?

My hen appears to have vent gleet that’s gotten significantly more yellow and watery than the pic. I’ve given her 400 IU of nystatin 2x day for 3 days and she still has no appetite and is lethargic. Should I try a different antifungal or antibiotic even? I have access to fluconazole and ordered...

Hens sleeping in the nesting box. Cold?

My hens are starting to sleep in the nesting box. Are they cold because their ventilation is too low? There’s a freeze tonight. Roost is open from below and ventilation is upper right. The beige plate heater is unplugged.

Antibiotics and liquid food for sour crop?!

We took our chicken with sour crop to a new bird vet and she hydrated our chicken then sent her home with antibiotics and liquid food. Isn’t sour crop a yeast bloom and doesn’t she likely have a blockage so wouldn’t require food? I wasn’t able to ask these questions because my husband took her...

We’re located in the East Bay, near Oakland in California. Anyway, he needs a new home as we’re only allowed...

The the chicks will be separated by a brooder box and a dog gate. I was hoping to leave them all together while the...

Do I need a wire apron to keep out critters?

Or will moving a bunch of these pavers pictured below to the sides suffice to keep out critters? We have coyotes, foxes and raccoons. How do I bury the apron if i need it? I have clay soil. Thanks!

Expand run or get another coop?

Just to preface this I’m in an area that has to shelter in place so please suggest mail order options. We have a coop with an 8x4 ft run and ordered 6 chicks. Is this coop big enough? They could free range and we could enclose the area you see below with a fence but they’d probably be exposed...

We ordered some supplies and 6 chicks from cackle hatchery. We’re getting three buff Orpingtons and three...
