My Gerty is 2 1/2 ur old Buff Orpington. She has been a bit lethargic over the last few days. Follows the flock but lays down rather than peck. Her crop is nearly empty with each check and she eats very little. I am also having to administer water. She also is gasping and can’t seem to sleep due...
I posted already about her foot. Now I’d like info on how long do you think she should be asleep and resting. Here’s the long story…Winni

I have a little rescue Cooper Moran that seems to have a broken leg. Someone placed a stent on it. I’ll check it later. Currently, I’m concerned about her foot. There seems to be an odd patch and a bit of swelling. Does anyone know what this is? If so, recommend protocol of healing?
My Henrietta has two different things presenting...
First, 2 weeks ago I notice she seemed to be favoring a leg. Inspected it - no cut, no bruising, no malformation, no bumblefoot signs. Over the last week, she seemed to have healed up from whatever and WAS walking fine.

When we got our girls, 3 were from a pullet group and our SLW was from a run. We knew there would be the possibility she was a he. What do you think? To soon to tell?

Say hello to Henrietta, Clotille, Gerdy, & Penelope. I’m afraid to admit how attached I’m becoming to these sweet souls.
Yes, we had a backyard photo shoot. Lol
I’m so happy to be walking down this new path.
We raised so many animals as a child including a yard full of chickens and ducks. After years of planning, I’ve finally went all the way! We have 4 girls - 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Barred Rock, & 1 Silver Sebright. Their coop was just completed and...
