I have a 1 year old brown leghorn that’s not herself. Checked for being egg bound, crop issues, lice and mites. She has a pale comb and is lethargic but appetite is still ok. This morning this was her fecal. Is it a worm??? See attached pictures
Bought as a pullets, 7 weeks old and just wondering if they’re all pullets. 1 is a brown leghorn, 2 is a splash Wyandotte, 3 is a crested cream legbar, 4 is a barred rock, 5 is midnight maran and 6 is a welsummer.
Bought this one as a BLRW pullet but have never had this breed. I have researched and believe this might be a splash? Also is it a pullet or cockerel? 5.5 weeks old
I’m pretty sure this will be a splash Wyandotte, it’s 4 weekish, it was bought as a BLRW pullet, but never having had this breed and it’s hard to find pictures of young chicks to compare it to, anyone have a guess to gender? It’s so hard because patterns like theirs usually means roo except with...
She has been lack luster for a few day and today she was laying in the middle of the yard by herself in the wide open. When I picked her up she’s super light and can’t even keep her eyes open. I felt to see if she was egg bound and found her butt was poopy but did not feel bound. I’ve...
Anyone have guesses on gender for these three 5 1/2 - 6 week olds? It’s hard to see the SLW’s comb but it’s a little pink and I can barely see some wattles. The two polish are a white crested and a Tolbunt!
Yesterday, I found one of my hen hanging upside down with her left leg caught in a rope, I still can’t figure out how but the rope has been removed. It was in teens, we cut her down and she was in shock. We wrapped her in a blanket, she was stiff and so cold and exhausted so we brought her...
hello, I have a 10 old chick that has lost her vent area feathers and vent seems to be swollen and red. She eats, drinks and poops fine. she seems active and alert like the others. Does anyone know what is going on and how to treat?
This morning one of RIR’s was sluggish and just standing. There was white mucous poop coming out of her vent. I started Corid for everyone. Later she was in the nesting box, when she left there was a soft shell egg and then I found another in the yard. She seems better, but exhausted...
We have a RIR red that’s been limping and hobbling around for over three weeks. we don’t see any physical damage to the foot or lower leg, it appears to be maybe up high on the thigh, so we thought it’s a sprain and would get better. She’s eating and drinking fine, she does mainly stay perched...
Anyone know if this could possibly be a bantam RIR? Or could it be something else? We received all of them in the same shipment. She just so much smaller, different color and her comb and waddle are different and much more red.
I have a chick that’s been limping for about 3 days. I’ve checked her foot and didn’t see anything, she’s eating and drinking, she try’s to keep up with the other gals. Does anyone have suggestions and know what could be wromg? She’s the smallest and it’s sad to see her ”gimpy“.
Hi everyone, I have 5 RIR’s but one is definitely smaller, coloring much lighter and is not getting the darker/black feathers like the others. Is she just an light RIR and smaller or could she be something different?
