Picked up this little lady today, she’s eating drinking and very active. But she’s got a bald butt. No irritation and her poops are normal and firm. Is this just her down falling off before the feathers come in? I haven’t seen it on the others so I just want to check.
Thanks in advance
Hello! I got 3 week old chicks from our local feed store about 2 weeks ago- they are set up and still indoors. Today I just picked up a single Salmon Faverolle of the same age from another farm. I currently have them separate- how long should I wait before I introduce. I purposely got them at...
Help! We had a shipment of chicks get stuck in delivery and all arrived dead but one- she wasn’t great but she was fighting. I am trying to keep her alive. She is drinking (with electrolytes) but not eating. Pooping and chirping.
She made it overnight but seems a bit weaker today. Tractor supply...
Turkelton was a rescue after injured as a chick. “He” was destined for thanksgiving, but was definitely pardoned due to “his” ability to snuggle!
My husband and I are starting to wonder if we have a Turkeltina. “He” is about 3 months to the day.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
Yesterday I noticed one of my girls holding her head funny, I’ll post photos to show (the best I could capture). In the photo with 2 she is the one on the right. She is behaving fine- eating, drinking, yelling at everyone. Let me poke and prod and I saw nothing visibly wrong.
Any thoughts?
Hi!
Two of my “girls” crowed for me this am. I’m devastated since one was of course my favorite bird. But I can not keep roosters in my neighborhood. So, rehome it is. In the photo it’s the 2 on the right.
Someone mentioned there is a specific NJ thread but I can’t seem to find it.
I would be...
Hi! My “girl” is 9 weeks, last week she sprouted “horns” and I asked in a thread (that now I can’t find!) if that was a sure fire sign she was a HE. No one replied and I can’t find a clear answer online- I fee like horns should have been a solid giveaway...
Her behaviors are very loving, the...
Hi!
Today the flock is just over 5 weeks, they were straight run so we still aren’t sure the sex of each one. We have our thoughts but I would love to hear from others!
Happy to provide other photos as well!
I can’t believe a month has passed! They are getting so big! Well, except for one 🤣 still waiting to know who’s a Roo, but we have some ideas- please share yours!
They are so ready to move outside- come one NJ weather!!!
Hello,
I apologize if this is in the wrong thread- BUT.
My chicks are currently 4 weeks old (about to be 5 on Sunday.)
Last week I received a call at work (Farm) that someone had “rescued” 2 baby ducks and was currently driving them to the farm so they could live with our farm ducks (farm raised...
The flock hit the 4 week mark! They love being outside and wish the weather here in NJ would warm up already so they could move outside! Our mystery bird STILL remains a mystery!
I added this on to another post about poops but got no response- hoping someone can help. My birds are just over 3 weeks and I am finding a poop like this. Birds are all eating playing acting healthy and happy. We have recently started more outside time so they are foraging for their own snacks...
It’s crazy hair week over here! They are really starting to develop some serious personalities- and my heart is starting to get heavy knowing that some will be cockerels. But until then all the ❤️
Hello!
we received all of our chicks in one order from Murray McMurray 2 weeks ago, they are all “top hat” varieties. In the mix were 2 Silver Laced Polish-they are both SO much smaller than the others one (Sophia) is even smaller than her hatch mate. She is happy, eats, drinks, runs around...
Hello, I’m sure I willnot be the only person posting something like this in the upcoming months- but I reached out to a few local farms and figured this would be another good place.
I’m currently raising a small flock (10) - they are mostly polish varieties. They were straight run so I know I’m...
The Flock is a week old! I can’t believe how quickly they are growing and how they are developing such funny and distinct personalities!
We celebrated with a photo shoot. I clearly have a group of super models on my hands💕
Hello! If I’m doing my math right the chicks are about a week old- starting to get in their feather and looking quite silly!
I have one Silver Laced Polish (Estelle) who’s feathers seem to be growing faster than she can keep up with!
