Went to town Saturday, between 2p and 5p, Border Collie was in house. When I got home, I found a pile of feathers in front, fenced in yard(more decorative than functional). Tracked feathers(w/7mm in hand) 100 yds down hill to stream where I found rooster alive. Sat by rooster for a while...
I have 2 hens that I brought to coop at the house and left the roosters at the barn. Now everyday the same 2 or 3 roosters travel the 1/2 mile from barn to the house in morning and then back to barn at night
Have a large rooster found this morning in barn that doesn't lift head. Picking at feed and water and seems aware and reacts to me. His crown is bloody, only injury that I noticed. Don't know if possum or raccoon did this last night. Could the other roosters have done this to him?
I need some ideas on different ways of losing roosters. Have 7 roosters, 3 hens from last years hatch, hens are starting to hate life this spring. Had roosters 3 high on 1 hen yesterday. Any way to tilt the odds towards hatching hens.

I snuck some eggs under my broody chicken 22 days ago. I checked on her yesterday, she was sitting on them. Checked on her today, she was off of them up in the rafters(cooling her tail, maybe:)). Eggs are very poopy, some broken and kicked out. Broke one open seems to be almost fully formed...
