Rooster's eye has a white mass

I noticed my rooster's eye has a white mass. We have other roosters and thought he had lost it but it's still there but there is some sort of white mass. Any ideas what this might be and how to treat? Thank you.

RIR hen with squishy swollen belly and difficulty walking

This past Sunday we noticed one of our Rhode Island Reds was not moving from her perch. She had a seriously poopy butt and a swollen squishy belly and green diarrhea. Since then, I have been giving her daily warm Epson salt baths as well as loading her up on kefir and buttermilk (for...

White mucus in mouth and gurgled breathing

Hi all, One of my silky roosters has not been doing well. His breathing is gurgly and had a white mucus in his mouth which smelled really bad. Have been trying vet rx and some vitamin water but still not looking well. The white mucus seems to be gone but the smell and gurgly is still there...

Can I dull beak and spurs to prevent rooster injuries?

Hi all, Before I ask my question, culling is not an option. I have a flock of 14 hens and have too many (8) roosters. They get along for the most part but occasionally they will fight but get over it. The only issue I have with them working it out are eye injuries. I've had 2 get eye...

My flock tested positive for tapeworms and capillary worms and my vet said to use albendazole to treat. I bought a bottle of Valbazen and need dosage instructions. I have various size birds ranging from 2.1 to 7.3 lbs. Appreciate the help.

    Treating hookworm and whipworm

Hi All, We rescued a sex-link hen and the vet told us she has hookworm and whipworm. We have never wormed any of our flock which we raised from chicks but have had this bird quarantined. The vet said I should get some Fenbendazole and you just add it to the water, but then I read it's not FDA...

    Dozen eggs and then broods

I have a hen who has gone through 2 cycles of laying about 12 eggs, which are collected daily, and then goes broody on invisible eggs. After doing this twice, I thought she would get over it, but she's back at it for the third time. Any suggestion or do I just need to get used to it? Thanks.

    How To Treat Mites

Hi All, I'm in South Florida but new to this chicken thing. I was given 2 roosters, 2 hens, and 8 chicks. We keep them in an open run and have 2 enclosed coops that they use at night. I recently noticed that the hens were scratching a lot and I believe I have a mite infestation. I see tiny...
