    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte pullet

What do you think about this one; male or female Blue Laced Red Wyandotte? The colors vary and the rose comb is hard to tell, so I’m not sure. Hatched Dec 16th at Meyers. The order was supposed to be all female but found two boys so far.

    Barnevelder rooster?

My friend got a couple Barnevelders from me this spring (hatched April 13th factory sexed) and just sent me this photo (first one in the grass). She said the bird doesn't crow and usually runs away from her but we think they/them looks like a he/him with the big red comb and wattles. I...

    Roo?

I have some 10 week old factory sexed female buff Orpingtons I'm raising and selling and one of them has very red wattles and comb. The other accidental cockerels I have had were aggressive and ran over and pecked me. This bird isn't aggressive at all, so I'm stumped. I'll attach a pic of a...

What time do I feed them breakfast?

Hi chicken family, I am in Northern Vermont and the last few days were cold. I'm trying to give my birds 14 hours of light with the artificial timer that comes on in the morning. It was coming on at 4am and now it comes on at 3 because of daylight savings time. They have to stay in their coops...

    Golden Comet

I got six Buff Orpingtons and six Golden Comets. One of the Golden Comets is more red and sleeps on the other side of the coop alone. Don't know if those have anything to do with identifying her but could she be a Rhode Island Red? the photos I found online look like RIRs don't have the white...

hi, I posted about accidentally getting a feather legged Maran a few days ago (first photo) and someone guessed Cuckoo Cockerel. Here are some new photos. Does anyone know for sure? I think it's a pullet since I haven't seen much wattle growth. They are a month old today. Also, It is much...

    New member from Vermont

Hi all, thank you for the advice I've been getting for the last few months. Backyardchickens.com has helped me a lot so far. I just started collecting chickens on St Patrick's Day and I'm hooked. Now I may have too many birds and am talking my friends into taking some! Pandemic and...

My Barred Rock is a Maran! French Black Copper OR feather leg variety of Cuckoo Maran?

Hi I'm new to raising chickens and this website but it has been very helpful since I started chickening March 17th. If my research is right, I accidentally got a Maran in with my Barred Rocks from the farm store. Can anyone tell me if it's a French Black Copper Maran or a Cuckoo Maran (feathered...
