One of my hens was sitting on eggs when another hen went broody towards the end - when broody 1 took a break broody2 sat on her eggs. I ended up splitting them between them. Unfortunately only 1 chock hatched and they are both mothering it! They are even both sitting in the nest together...
Is it possible they are eating the eggs? I see zero evidence of that so, if they are, do they eat every scrap? I worry that I had made the mistake a couple of times of throwing cracked eggs in the run (of course they chowed it down) and I created a little cannibalistic (albeit very cute)...
