How much should we manage duck mating?

What breed Is this?
The farm store sold this bird as a barred Plymouth rock as a chick- she didn’t have the white dot on her head like most do. She was mostly black. She has no barring on any feathers, and actually has a tinge of auburn feathers around her eyes. Any ideas?- cflory

Does hen rooster ratio matter as much for free range chickens?
I’m wondering if roosters pester hens less when there is no confinement. I read that in the wild, red jungle fowl males split off from the flock to form all male groups kinda like deer do, and the alpha runs with the hens.
