My rooster I believe had a heat stroke a few months ago but I was able to save him by pumping him full of vitamins (or it was a vitamin deficiency. honestly idk.) But anyways it happened again but now its worse...he is awake and seems to be alert. His legs work fine but he cant walk. Vitamins...
Read that heat exhaustion can causeVitamin deficiencies. Well my rooster had trouble walking and had issues with his legs so I tried pumping him full of vitamins and it worked. But it happened again and although I’m trying to give him vitamins he is refusing to drink and he’s getting worse. So...
My hens have stopped laying and I get 1-2 eggs a day. 1 girl is broody so i'm not sure if that makes a difference? It's also CRAZY hot out so it could be that? The girls all got hit with either a sickness or maybe molting and one did pass away but i'm assuming that was heat. Any thoughts would...
Hey everyone--
In this area, its be HOT this summer and the smell and flies have been bad in the coop. Originally I used shavings, then shavings +Straw for the extra insulation, and then it kinda happened to where I was jsut buying straw. But now i'm wondering if the shavings would be better...
I believe my hen has sour crop. I put her upside down to help and she barfed like I expected. But then HOURS later, I picked her up and you could tell she was gagging so I turned her over and she barfed again..is this normal?
I have a hen who looks awful and up until now, we’ve had a bad luck streak in my flock. I have a water container full of vitamins due to a vitamin deficiency, Corid in another water container as well and now this girl. Her feathers are all kinds of gross, watery stool that’s on her butt...
Here’s a backstory:
About 6 weeks ago I quarantined a hen in my house. I assumed two roosters were fighting over her and that’s why she was walking weird to not being able to walk at all. She ended up passing about a month ago.
today I let my chickens out of the coop for the first time ina...

today I let my chickens out of the coop for the first time ina week (been on vacation)...
I had two roosters. One was feather picking at her and then a week later she was limping. Then a few days later she was walking like she was drunk. She has little balance and even noticed both roosters trying to mount her which made it worse. She’s in my basement now but what the heck happened??
I have two roosters. I’m trying to rehome the one because he’s hurting a hen with his friskyness...well apparently now so is the second one! What the heck. Is it because I have two roosters or is this an awful phase?
I tried separating the hen in the house but she wouldn’t have it. So she’s...
MyHen is limping and I’m not sure why. A couple days ago I noticed one of my roosters was packing at her and I wonder if this is the reason. I currently have two roosters and I realize this can be a danger to my hands I just have not had a chance to rehome yet. She can stand up but will lose...
I have two roosters and 11 hens. They all grew up together and now that they’re older, I just want to know if this behavior is temporary or do I need to consider rehoming?
the rooster will basically peck at the hens feathers, shell squeak and run away.
I heard someone crow but it’s between two. I think it’s this one..thoughts? Definitely acts the same as my other rooster in terms of fluffing it’s feathers lol
My hen was injured by an animal and had really deep lacerations and could not walk. It’s been 10 days in the lacerations have healed and she is able to stand but is still limping around. When should I re-introduce her to the flock? I assumed it was when she would be fully better but even though...
Long story short, chicken was attacked and has been recovering in my house for a week with minimal improvements. She has no use of one leg and today she pooped and it wasn’t right either...am I trying to keep a chicken alive that needs to be put out of its misery?
she is currently sitting up...
A week ago, my chicken got attacked and she’s been inside for 7 days. The wound is healing (I think) but there’s still zero improvement on her using her one leg. She just drags herself through her own fecal matter.
Well today we put her on hard floor to see if she was improving and she pooped...
