I have a Silverlaced Wyandotte rooster that needs a home. I have two other roosters at this time and there are not enough hens to go around. I will eventually have more hens but if I can find a good home for him that will be best. I live in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
I let a broody hen hatch some eggs this summer. I only got 1 hen and the rest are roosters. I am keeping 1 rooster and need to rehome 3. The father is a Silverlaced Wyandotte and the mothers are an Australorp and a Dominique. I live on 3 acres but not enough room for all of them. I also have 2...
I haven't been on line in quite some time. I presently live in Skiatook. I am now over run with roosters. They are just shy of 6 mos of age. I cannot kill them. I would like to find someone who would want them for frying. I don't want them to go to the cock ring. Am I posting in the right spot...
I hope this is the right forum for this issue. My neighbor informed me yesterday that one of my hens has been in her yard all week. I usually do a head count on the weekends as I go to and from work in the dark. I tried to throw a blanket over her yesterday am to no avail. I tried the same thing...
I have 24 hens and they are laying like crazy. I get about 16 to 18 eggs a day. I have advertised on Craig list, work infromation paper, local ag store, and word of mouth. I can't sell them or eat them fast enough. Any suggestions?
Now that my hens are starting to really lay alot of eggs most of them have brown diarrhea. I would notice this diarrhea once and a while but to no concern. Now most of them seem to have it. They have been laying for about 2-3 weeks now. Any feedback will be most helpful.
I am sure that some where on this site there is a chart that identifies eggs with breed. A couple of my hens have started laying. I know one is a buff orpington. I am not sure which egg is hers and which hen laid the other. The eggs look different. Any suggestions?
I missed the rooster contest and just want to share my handsome roo. He was a surprise since I only ordered hens. My neighbors don't seem to mind that I have him. I am looking forward to hatching my own eggs.
I lost one of my barred rock hens this evening. She got her neck caught between two boards in the coop. I heard some commotion in the coop as I went out to check on them. I was able to free her but too late. She must have broken her neck. I held her until she was gone. I laid her on the ground...
I ended up with a black australorp roo in my batch of 26 chicks. I always enjoy reading posts regarding hatching. I am looking forward to doing this. My question is, do I let a hen hatch them or do I get a bator? I am going to separate my roo and the other australorps to keep the chicks pure...
