Since the last time I posted, I've become a substitute teacher and a school I subbed at happened to be right next to a Tractor Supply. So of course I made the choice of walking in after work and somehow leaving with a box of 4 bantams lol. I had to give away my entire flock last August for a...
At 26 weeks and 3 days, I have my first egg! The girls have been squatting for weeks now, and I thought I wasn't going to get any eggs this year at all with the days getting shorter, but here we are. I have 2 separate flocks, 3 Production Red and 3 Barred Rocks in the first flock, and a mix of...
The size of this chicken is something I've noticed since about 10 weeks, she just doesn't seem to be getting bigger, and even another 9 week old from a different hatch is starting to catch up to her in size.
The other problem I'm having is that I've noticed bubbly tears in her right eye today...

The first 2 pictures are of my Partridge Cochin and...

I have a Cream Legbar pullet at 4 weeks old that I just noticed is keeping it's left eye closed. I have been slowly introducing hatchlings of 4 weeks old to a 9 week old flock starting a week ago (keeping them in a separate cage within the chicken tractor I have them in) and I think maybe one...
I have this 3 and a half week old Easter Egger, and I'm really hoping for it to be a pullet. It's not a big deal if it is or not. I read that feather patterns can help determine the gender at a young age for EEs, but I don't know which pattern to look for.

The chick is a Blue Adalusian (According to the egg code from Meyer Hatchery on the Eggshell).
I've noticed some problems since this chick hatched, seems to have it's eyes closed more often than the other...
