Hi,
No emergency here, just wanted some other fellow chicken keepers experiences. I’ve been a chicken keeper for about a year now and had three losses. One from heat stroke, one from egg bound, and another I’m not quite sure. She was always lethargic and sickly but she ate and drank water. She...
I have 6 Roos that need rehoming. I love them but I live in an urban setting and the neighbors are starting to complain. I’m located in Western Mass and am totally willing to send pics and meet up to exchange them. I’m really hoping to give them to a good home where they will be loved.

Please help I came home from work and one of my silkies had his foot wrapped in bedding and must have twisted his neck or hit his head. I’ve brought them inside and tried food and water but I have no idea what to do please help. He’s twitching peeping it’s awful
Hello again,
My silkies are now all 8 weeks and older so I was hoping I could get some help with gender guesses. I’m thinking I have three cockerels and one hen. The littlest is the one I’m 50/50 on. I’ll be attaching all the pictures I can so if anyone can be of assistance that would be grand...
Unfortunately I just lost one of my chicks to the heat and an accident with the coop door today.
That leaves me with one almost eight week old silkie. I have some ladies for the young cockerel (he’s definitely a boy) coming in the beginning of September, but they won’t be ready to join him...
Hello!

I have two five week old silkie chicks, and I’m thinking of transitioning them outside in the next week or so (they will be 6-7 weeks). The weather is looking at being low to mid 80s and lowest high 50s. Is it too soon? Any advice on the transition?
I’m three days in to owning two adorable 4 week old silkie chicks. I’ve been trying to get them to eat from my hand and build trust so that I can eventually hold them. So far only one of my chicks will peck for a second or two… otherwise they scatter the minute I try to pet them or get too...
Hello,
I know it’s too early to sex the silkies as they are only 4 weeks old but does anyone want to take a guess? I’m hoping for at least one pullet….
thanks and happy guessing!

Hello,
I just became the owner of two adorable silkies chicks, both about 4 weeks old. I’ve been excessively researching silkies before I got them and plan on continuing to use Backyard chickens as a resource. My dream is to add call ducks to my tiny flock maybe next summer!
