I am wondering what could be causing my girls to loose their feathers. Is there such a thing as spring molting? They are last years chicks. Or are they picking on one another? I have one hen sick, pale comb, possibly internally laying...not sure.
I am not sure what has caused this, but went out to clean up after the girls only to find one has an injured comb. It is dripping blood and I am not sure what to do. This is my first injury so I could use some good advice! Thank you.
I am very new at raising chickens....I love it! I have just recently received 3 eggs in the last week from my 6 Isa Brown's. Only one has a very red and mature looking comb on her head. Does that mean that she is mature enough to lay her eggs?
