4 ISA brown pullets rehome (Houston area)

Anyone interested in taking 4 free ten week old ISA brown pullets in the Houston area? We live in katy. They are all healthy- we are just a little too busy with work to give them much attention and a little restricted in the areas that they can free roam in our backyard.

    Chicks eating PDZ!!!

After weeks of struggling with messy pine shavings and the poop smell, I have finally upgraded to sweet PDZ in the coop. As soon as I dumped it in the coop... my 4 nine week old pullets rushed over and started eating it! Would they die from it? Is it safe?

Hello! My four pullets are about 8 weeks old and I have finally added in a larger roosting bar ( curtain rod like, wood, stable and round) a few days ago. The bar is currently about 10 inches above the ground. I've been noticing the chicks sometimes falling off the bar and scaring themselves...

    Opening up nesting box

Hello! My four chicks are getting to the point of laying in about two months. Their nesting box is currently closed off so they don’t get into a habit of sleeping in there. As a matter of fact the divider fell off one night and they all went into the nesting box and slept and pooped there all...

I've gotten good tips from this forum on how to deal with hot weather but we are limited in terms of what we can do. The coop and run are...

    Accidental Rooster?

Hello! I’ve got four 6/7 week old sex links/ISA browns - whichever they are called :) The sticker at Tractor Supply says they were pullets bred between RIW and RIR. Lately I’ve noticed that this particular chick has a bigger comb and less brown than the other chicks. What do you think? A rooster?

Chicks unwilling to go into coop at night

Hi guys! I have four 6 week old ISA browns that moved outside to their coop with an attached run. They are in their run and coop with door open throughout the day but at night when it starts getting dark, I try to shuffle them back to their coop so they can get a good night of sleep. It’s been a...

No waste feeder for non-handy newbies

Hello from a fellow first time chicken owner. Our story started with us moving from the city to the suburb for more space and driving by a Tractor Supply on our way home. “What’s a tractor supply? Let’s go look. It says Chick Day! You think they have chicken in there?!” Next thing I knew I came...

    Pedicure needed for chicks?

Hello! I started my four pullets on puppy pads for about 1.5 weeks because they kept eating the pine shavings. And that resulted in quite a bit of poop stuck on their tiny feet. I cleaned them a few times and then switched to pine shavings. Most of the poop stuck fell off but I noticed there...

Hello! We’ve got four baby chicks here and they are about 2.5 week old. I noticed that in the past two days they have been super active and a couple even flew out of the large plastic container that they are in. I improvised by putting a mosquito net over it. Do you think the container is...
