    Chicken dead when I came home.

    I came home today and one of my chickens had died. She was nearly 1 year old. I let her free-range. She was doing a sand-bath when she died. 😭 So sad. She was my youngest and best layer.

    Chickens knowing it is morning.

    How do my chickens know it is morning when the chicken coop's inside is completely dark? I put tarps on top of the coop during the winter to keep the inside warm and it blocks out all the light. But they seem to know that it is morning when I go to let them out.
