    Winter Eggs

Hi everyone! How do you all go about collecting eggs in the winter? I usually just collect once a day in the evening. Can cold and or possible frozen eggs be brought inside to sit on the counter or do they need to go in the fridge?

    Winterizing metal fence post run

Hi everyone! Looking for some creative ideas to keep our run covered in the winter (mostly from hawks). Currently we have thin plastic netting over the top which I know will collapse with snow on it. Any ideas? Pictures attached of our current set up

Sleepy, injured, or ready to lay?

Hi! I have one girl who’s been laying around a lot today. Even with the others snacking on cucumbers. They’re 18 weeks, do you think she’s just tired, sick, or do chickens lay down a lot when they’re getting close to laying? Hubby thinks I’m being paranoid 😂

    Roosters or hens?

Hi there! Based on these pictures, can anyone tell me if my three speckled Sussex’s are roosters or hens? I have a feeling the bottom photo is a roo based on her tail feathers but hoping I’m wrong!

    Point of lay

Hi everyone! Hoping someone can tell me if my pullets seem close to laying based on the color of their combs and wattles? They’re 17 weeks. I never knew how impatient I was until I started waiting for eggs… I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!

    Ameraucanas or Easter Eggers?

Hi, everyone! I’m new here to the chicken community. We got 3 speckled Sussex and 3 “ameraucanas”, after much research, I am wondering if we actually have Easter eggers. Can anyone tell me based on these pictures? Thanks!
