    Egg cartons

Hi all, I have a bunch of egg cartons that I have been saving for a friend who no longer has chickens. Would any one like to have them. I live in Carson City, Nv. You would have to pick them up as I am unable to drive at this time. First request gets them all. Thanks, Kat

Introducing ducklings to a broody goose

Hi all, My ducklings from Metzer are due next Wednesday. How would I introduce them to Rosie? I know chickens are catatonic when they sleep and you can slip them under the broody hen, but the geese are like the ducks, party all night. I have the brooder all ready if the introductions don't...

    Will a goose raise ducklings?

Hi all, I have a broody goose. It's her first time and she doesn't seem to be having any luck hatching. I want to get some ducklings and was wondering if she would raise them. I know chickens will raise anything but my silky freaks out when they go swimming. lol Thanks, Kathy

    Another bumblefoot question

Hi all, My security rooster, Worf, has bumblefoot and I've been treating for three weeks now. Today I opened the bottom of his foot (this started in his middle toe). I cleaned it out really aggressively and soaked the whole foot in a cup of peroxide. Since the polysporin doesn't seem to be...

    Butchered bird storage

Hi all, I just butchered two roosters. They are in the cooler with ice and salt and I was just going to clean them. How long can they stay in there before cleaning? There's a storm and my well pump just went out so no running water. They can't fix it till tomorrow.

    Dividing a clutch between broodies

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. I have my broody Australorp sitting on a clutch of Pams Pride eggs. My white silkie, Ying, ( the black roo is Yang) has gone seriously broody. Can I divide the clutch between them as I don't want to start more chicks right now?

    Just got Pams Pride eggs

Hi all, I just got Pam's eggs at work. They thought I was weird before but now they think I'm over the edge. They were packed beautifully and arrived in perfect condition. Eight in all. I went home at lunch and put them under my broody australorp. The both of us are soooo happy. Thanks Pam.

    Coyote tried to take one

Hi all, A coyote just grabbed my GLW but I hit him with a shovel and he dropped her. I can't find any external injuries just a lot of lost feathers. She won't stand and lays on her side. Her legs aren't broken but she has them stretched out behind her. I don't feel any broken bones in her...

Does anyone live in northern Nevada?

Hi, I'm looking for someone around Reno (100 mile radius) who would be interested in three banty chickens. I rescued them today at the feed store. The woman was going to release them into the sagebrush because her grandson "got bored with them" and the feed store wouldn't take them because...
