Preparing to treat my flock with elector psp for mites. It's 57 now with a low of 44 tonight - too cold to spray the hard to catch hooligans at roost tonight?
They had watermelon today. But I found this. Two spots. I've been fighting a respiratory infection also. Still wet so not sure how dark it would dry out.
I have two issues going through my flock right now: lice and an upper respiratory infection.
From what I can tell, only two had actual lice. One bad (eggs and all), one not bad (just a few lice present). They've been separated and now the entire flock has been treated with elector PSP...
Fleas or mites? This girl is currently separate due to an upper respiratory amd while treating her I saw this thing on the towel crawl across her face. Apon further inspection I found more smaller ones. I've ordered elector psp. I'll clean the coop when I get the elector so I do it all in one...
I have a hen who has one frothy eye, wheezing, sneezing and head shaking. I cannot get a prescription so I was looking at alternative routes. Found tylosin here...
I have a chicken who I just noticed wheezing tonight. There's been some sneezing as well. She's eating. Drinking. No eye discharge or nose discharge I've seen. What should I do at this point?
I bought her as a brown leghorn. Shes petite and spazzy like a leghorn, spexially in comparison to the other breeds ive bought. Currently 8 weeks old. Google image search says pearl legbar.
I know mystic onyx are supposed to be auto seeing and I cannot for the life of me remember if there was a black dot on the head or not - but this one has started making the sound roosters make to call to food. Any insights?
Recently moved my brooder to the garage and added a heat plate. The chicks are not going under the plate but instead all on the opposite side of the brooder. Thermometer reads about 68 over there. I have a heat lamp overhead just because the outside Temps are a tad chilly. High of 51 today...
This is Ragnar, my gentle giant. His crop is soft and squishy - still full in the morning. No foul odor from his mouth, no white in his mouth. I'm assuming sour crop. I've massaged it and he hasn't thrown up. What do I need to do, Google gives me a million different answers.
I have 4 in question as to whether they are roos or not. 1st up; Ragnar this massive fella (?) Came from the mixed bin at TS and I've always assumed roo pure on size/comb/waddle not even 100% sitr on breed. Barred feathering with some brown mixed into the wings. Roughly 6 weeks old. 2nd: poppy...
About 3 weeks ago, my older children failed to latch the run correctly and my flock got the brut of my idiot dogs (working on training). This girl got the worst and she has an injury to her chest. While it's healing and she is getting around well, happy and asking for cuddles, her food is...
Hey! New to the page here! I got this chock from TS assorted bin about three weeks ago and I'm trying to figure out breed. Also, notably, it's double the size now of the other chick I got the same day that I assume is a RIR.
