I had 4 Easter eggers that were each laying an egg almost every single day. a couple weeks ago a neighbors dog killed one of them, since then the remaining 3 haven’t laid a single egg. Is this normal? Are they just traumatized?
I have 4 Easter eggers that are all 22 weeks old and none of them are laying. only one of them has a red face and she’s getting a little comb. The others still have really pale faces, are the others late bloomers or should they also have red faces and combs by now? Also I’m in Texas so it’s...
I’ve read too much about identifying the gender of Easter eggers and I’ve confused myself. I was almost sure all of these were cockerels, but again, I’ve confused myself. They’re around 12 weeks. None of them have crowed, but I do have one that is very dominant and crows a lot
I have a pullet that’s not putting weight on one leg. I checked and I don’t see any wounds and it doesn’t look like anything is wrong, but for 2 days she won’t get up and walk around unless absolutely necessary and stumbles when she puts weight on one of her legs. She is still eating and...
I have one chicken that’s not coming out of the coop with everyone else. It seems fine, not injured. It’s not sleeping, just sitting in the coop. It’s been storming and raining all day, is it possible she’s just cold and doesn’t want to be rained on?
If I get day old chicks from a hatchery, how old will they need to be before it’s safe for them to go in the coop with other chickens? Will I need to wait the full 6 weeks so they’re feathered? I’m in Texas so keeping them warm outside isn’t an issue.
I have nine easter eggers that are 10 weeks old. Out of the 9, I’m almost 100% sure that 7 are cockerels. I’m wanting to add more pullets to the flock, but what ages would be safe to put in with the others? And should I wait until I get rid of some of the cockerels first? The coop is an 8x10 I...
I am brand new to chickens and have nine 10 week old Easter eggers. I believe 3 or 4 of them are cockerels and I am wanting to keep one. I have read a few articles that ALL Easter Egger roosters are aggressive, is this true? Are there any warning signs to look for that a cockerel will end up...
I’m trying to figure out the gender of these Easter Eggers. This is my first time raising chickens and these are 10 weeks old.
1) solid white - I thought this was a pullet, but after researching I'm not sure anymore
2) black and red - pretty sure both black and red colored are pullets...
