    Hatch is complete....PIC ADDED

    My hatch is complete and I am a happy guy. Locked down with 15 eggs. 3 didn't make it but I now have 12 babies running around in the bator. Will place in my brooder this afternoon after the last one has had a chance to dry off completely.

    Well, the 1st of my Silver Cuckoo Marans eggs hatched out exactly 1 hour ago. There are 2 out of their eggs now and more workin on it. 15 eggs total. My wife and I are watching the babies break free together. Great fun.

    What do you folks suggest to use as litter on the floor of your brooder for baby chicks? I have used pine shavings in the past but wasn't particularly pleased with it.
