    flecks of brown material in the egg whites during Nov/Dec

    The few eggs I get this time of year have brown flecks of material in the whites. The eggs are brown too. Also the shells are quite soft. Does anyone have any ideas what might this might be or what might be causing it? Thanks

    do chicken's feet feel the cold temps?

    I'm wondering if chickens feel the cold temps of the snow and ice. We get a lot of snow which of course means ice too but they don't seem to mind it too much. My husband thinks they don't have nerves in their feet. Does anyone know for sure?
