    Thank you for your replies. I hadn't heard this before but it came from someone who got it from a feed seminar from one of the feed companies. Maybe they heard wrong or it was just wrong information. Just thought I'd run it by ya'll !

    Hey Squatfisher, glad to see you posted your ?? here (I was going to suggest that!) Hopefully someone can help. Can you empty the new bag and check for mold? Also I would contact the company of the new scratch just to make sure there haven't been others with problems and to let them know.

    How hot is it where you are? The prolonged heat and humidity has dramatically cut back on my girls laying; laying less and a little smaller.

    We also use a 10x10x6 dog kennel. We use ours as a tractor. We put hardware cloth around the bottom 3' up the side and a 1' apron to keep predators out. We actually have 2 for different sets of girls, the tops are both covered with 2"x4" wire and a tarp. The 2nd one is going to have a hoop roof...
