Hey everyone, we just moved to Round Rock Texas, just north of Austin and I had to find a new home for my small flock in Portland before we left. Back there I had a pretty great local feed store that I preordered chicks from, and they got a huge selection of day olds breeds and took good care of...
Thank you again for your help. Unfortunately I went out to check on her and move her in and she was dead already. I'm very upset by this and just can't grasp what happened to her. I hope the rest of the flock will be alright.
It is a sad day.
I have not wormed her or the rest of the flock so I have no idea if it is parasites.
I am sure that she has been eating healthily and I have noticed her with a large looking crop.
This was very sudden except for the weight which I have been noticing for a bit was low- I just kind of thought...
If you haven't already figured out the situation, here's my opinion/suggestions.
His weight in the photos you posted looks just right. I wouldn't want to see him any thicker or thinner honestly.
I won't turn it into a food conversation but.. I would strongly recommend that you switch foods...
Update: I need some help and insight, I believe this young hen may be dying today. Let me bring you guys up to speed: It took about 3 weeks before Fritatta (the welsummer pullet who had the injured foot) began fully using her leg again. It was a gradual process. During that time I would take her...

I am needing a little bit of reassurance and advice on introducing new hens to a current flock. The existing flock consisted of 6 hens and one rooster, all about 6 months old. They have a run that is 100ftx50ft and I am introducing 2 new hens, both 6 months old.
I got them during the day...
Thank you very much, I will get them back on organic chick grower again tomorrow and start giving the mash of additional supplements that you suggested to her. I hope the food didn't hurt them.. I just switched them over because I thought after 16 weeks they might start laying and needed the...
***UPDATE: I THINK THIS BIRD MAY BE DYING! (2.5 MONTHS LATER) SEE NEW POST AT BOTTOM AND PLEASE HELP!***

I'm not expecting perfection or anything of the sort, it's just good to know what I've got. She is great either way
As for the GSL/ RIR/NHR what do you guys think? And how does one tell the difference between a NHR and a RIR, or do you at all?
