Our local farm store took him off our hands and will join his large flock so off to a good home. In return we have a nice mystery hen, lets hope her new sisters are welcoming.
At 16 weeks we were told that is was a "she" by our local chicken guru, now at 22 weeks looks like pointy saddle feathers are appearing. It is an easter egger/wyandotte mix. Any guesses on Roo or Hen?

Well I took "her" to the Urban Farm Store here in Portland to our resident chicken expert and he says all signs are pointing to a girl. No evidence of pointed saddle feathers yet so I will keep my fingers crossed.
We picked up some pullets today all of which we knew the breeds except one. He told us it was an Ameraucana but I had my doubts. Can anyone clear up which breed this might be?

Thanks Dave, I live in the Pacific Northwest so we have mild winters, but our share of cold weather. I noticed those latches as well, not only with predators but I have two little ones so that would be one of the first changes I would make.
