Hello aliris,
I’m in the SGV. (SanGabriel Valley). I’ve had chickens for many years. I just love them. I do have a chicken math problem:eek: ! I have many different breeds. Couple of very sweet roosters. We are not too far from the west side!
Have fun with your chooks!
I am going to have to check this whole thread for recipes! My gals don’t care for corn! That is what is always leftover. I usually give wet mash in the morning and they love it.
There is another place in Corona called Hilltop Farms Poultry. The guy there is Patrick and he is very nice. They have a nice website too. Check them out!
I have a rooster that is 11 weeks old. He is my baby! He hasn’t tried to crow yet. We are not allowed roosters but I’m not going to get rid of him, he is too precious to me. Sweetest bird I have ever had. Does yours crow a lot?
The Bieles I have are still babies 4 weeks and 1 roo that is 6 weeks. These are the sweetest birds I’ve ever encountered! My little guy wears a diaper and hangs with me in the house. They love the attention and love showered upon them! :love
I’ve read that silkies must have non-medicated feed and vitamins in the water. Is this true? Can they handle medicated chicken feed? I’ve got chicks that are 2 weeks old and on the non-medicated with the vitamin water. They are thriving.:idunno
