    Egg irregularity

Our Americana layer has been producing eggs that have rough calicifications on them, usually at the narrower end of the egg. Is there something in the diet that causes this? Is it painful for the hen to lay eggs like this? Thanks!

So many bad things are going through my mind i need help now!!!!!

When I have accidentally left one of our hens out to free range after dusk they will fly up into a laurel bush above the coop and roost. Almost impossible to see because they are so still. I was really worried, but she was clucking around at the henhouse door in the morning. Good luck!
