    Portable Coop

Hey ya'll, so I've been kickin' around the idea of managing my flock of chickens and ducks throughout pastures behind my cattle and pigs. I had thought of making an " A" frame portable coop with plywood and 2x4's and fencing the chickens and ducks with electric netting around the coop. What are...

    Let's talk pig!

I'd figured I'd share my pigs as I usually am only on here for chickens and ducks lol. This is my 2nd year raising feeder pigs and gonna be my first year raising breeders. The first pic of the two are my feeders, the white with black spots is a Gloucestershire old spot berkshire cross, and the...

    Joel Salatins Egg Mobile

Has anyone ever done a set up like this? Building a coop with just a roof and a few walls but having electric fence around it? I'm trying to do something new with my chickens and wanting to move em around the pastures and saw a few of Joel's ideas and thought it was pretty neat. I just don't...

    Duck house

. . Hey yall I'm wanting to start my breeding house for my ducks so I can separate em by the start of next year. The first 2 pictures above is what the housing me and my dad made last year after we took off all the pieces of woods, sides and flooring. The only thing that was left was the roof...

    Electric Wires

For those electric fences like on the website, can you use any electric box for that or do you have to use a specific box charger for it? I like those and I may try em. Can you let the birds free range day and night and not have to lock em up?

    Electric Wires

I'd like to keep out predators so I'd like to go with the electric. My own cats would sometimes try and catch my ducks. So I want to be able to let my birds roam freely maybe even at night too with an electric fencing.

    Electric Wires

Sorry Crazytalk, I didn't see your post earlier til now. When we had our chickens roaming with the cattle, a few of em got shocked and ran freaking out like crazy. I'm sure they knew then not to come near it. If it's worth a try on waterfowl i may try it. Would anything badly happen if the ducks...

    Electric Wires

Sorry I didn't tell you I have that. I have my two geese in there for now. I have my 12 chickens and turkey in the coop, and 13 ducks in the coop as well. I am wanting to separate the ducks since they are all different breeds and I want to breed em to have purebred ducks. I am looking for a way...

    Electric Wires

Well I mean i want to be able to move em around our pasture. I don't want to fully confine em in one spot. I want to move em behind our cattle to clean up to cow pies and such.

    Electric Wires

Which one? The electric wire? For the electric wire fence we use for our cattle and sheeps. My chickens, ducks, turkey, and geese all free range. I want to confine them in a way so they aren't all over the place.

    Electric Wires

What if you use like a low voltage charger? Where are some good places online to buy electric netting? None of our feed stores here have em. What sort of chargers would you need to use for the electric netting?

    Electric Wires

Has anyone ever used electric wire fencing to keep chickens, ducks, geese in? I'm talking about the electric fence you would use for cattle, sheep, etc. I was thinking about using this since we use it for our cattle and sheep. Instead of buying the electric netting itself. I was thinking maybe...

    Blue laced red Wyandottes?

Mine were born between late April to early May. I forgot to ask the feed store how old they were. Do there colors change once they get older? Like will it be a maroon color with blue like the few pics on here?

    Blue laced red Wyandottes?

So they grow slowly? My ducks are younger than em, about a week younger and they look full grown. I'd think my Wyandottes would be at least taller or a bit taller than they are now. Are blue laced red Wyandottes bantams or standard breeds?
