I got 7 of these as packing peanuts from ideal...I have no idea what they really are and I am pretty sure they are all boys except I was hoping this one might be a girl? Any ideas would greatly be appreciated! Thanks
so my cochin hen has been sitting on her eggs like a good mama....yesterday I saw a little bullseye crack in one of the eggs and this morning about half the egg shell is off but the membrane is still intact and over the chick..I can see it move and heard a peep but the membrane is looking a...
If you are looking for a pyr...I would suggest looking up Tip-n-Chips Kennel. Best Breeder of pyrs in the biz!!! It is in Illinois but getting a life long family member is worth finding a great breeder that is dependable and has been doing it for years. I know the breeder personally and...
Well first off my dogs are in the house and always in their fenced yard so letting them out to patrol the chicken coop is not going to work. Secondly I do not want them in a dog fight so I can pay for vet bills incase they get injuried. I know there are many people who may not having a problem...
Hey at least you are getting eggs! LOL I don't even want to know the math on mine. Even had to purchase them at the store today....I sure do hope it gets better for both of us. I hate to admit it though I'm addicted to chickens and love them
I have a standard buff brahma...and I know they tend to be late bloomers but going on 7 months now. Her comb has been red for about 2 months now. She is healthy, happy, and gets plenty of fresh veggies, laying pellets, and treats. No eggs yet. I quess I was wondering if there is such a thing...

It is regular chicken wire....and I have found out it obviously is not strong enough to keep things out because it took that lab about 30 sec to rip the hole in it. I don't know who the dogs belong to because we live in Arkansas and everyone seems to just let their animals run wild. Nothing...
ask around about local bow hunters!! My husband is an avid bow hunter and would love the opportunity to kill something with his bow. Plus they are exteamly quiet....and not dangerous in a residental area because a bow hunter would have to be anywhere from 20-40 yards away. It is not like a gun...
Yesterday my German Shepherds that are inside the house went nuts....the chicken coop is visable from inside...to find a black lab diggin at the chicken coop!! I went out with a pistol and shot in the air to scare it away and it did, but noticed it had ripped a whole in the chicken wire. Then...
I use to be a vet tech for an animal hospital that only dealt with dogs and cats, but they would sometimes get wounds that had maggots in them too. I know this is going to sound really strange but starter fluid can be sprayed into the wound where the maggots are. It kills them almost instantly...
