Hello, straight to answers, yes they are cold hardy. Egg production will vary depending on genetics and light. Just like any other chicken with putting bk at night, they'll go in on their own if they are raised or kept in the coop for a couple weeks.
Wow their green shine really stands out! I've been giving mine black sunflower seeds to bring out the shine more before the congress show in January. Do you give your birds sunflower seeds or anything else to bring out the shine?
My newest flock addition. He's about 25in tall already under a yr old. I got 2 hens with him so I can begin breeding. The 2 hens are pure black and this guy has a little red leakage on his neck. Is that easy to breed out if I end up wanting to show them?
Thanks,
R
Hello, I have a nice pair of milles for sale. 30$ for pair and like 100$ for shipping. Roughly 80$ for shipping and like 15-20$ for the box. Crazy shipping prices but let me know if your interested. My lines are proven show winners
Hello All, anyone close or in CT interested in purchasing my Blue Sumatra flock? I've decided to part with the blues. I need more coop space for separating out black Sumatras. I can try shipping the birds in a few weeks when it cools down a bit but I've never actually shipped. And it is VERY...
Anyone near CT interested in some young roosters from my stock? My last hatch about 2 months ago ended up being 8 roosters and 5 hens. I already parted with 1 hen as a package to get rid of 2 roos but can't part with anymore of the hens until late fall. Let me know, I'd be willing to drive a...
I would separate him immediately from the flock and give antibiotics. That usually does the trick. I'm pretty sure Duramycin is what I used. I store it in the freezer when not using so it stays dry and lasts a long time.
Some side shots of them showing off would be easier to see form but from the bottom pic they look like they have long backs. Should be more of a U. But good bearing and foot feathering. Spangles aren't very uniform on the Mille. Do you know if they were from good show lines or a hatchery?
This is a very interesting subject you brought up but you may have more luck in the general forum on another thread, not in this breed specific thread. Let me know where you post, if you do so I could follow. Thanks and I hope you get some good answers.
Thank you Gamebirds only! Sumatras seem extremely popular with the judges the past couple years. I have literally won Best AOSB at both shows I've been to this Spring and a couple last year.
Trying to catch up here, it's been awhile since I've logged on. I went to the Central Maine Poultry show this past weekend and did well with my Sumatras. AOSB. There was one other guy with 5 Sumatras himself that looked pretty good also.
Up for sale, I have SHOW QUALITY Sumatra(Black & Blue LF) and also Bearded Mille Fleur D'uccle hatching eggs. These are not run of the mill hatchery birds. I have been breeding for almost 5 years now and continued to breed to standard beginning with good quality stock. I have attended many...
