Whats the longest time between first and last hatches?

Day 21 was on Friday and chick 1 hatched at 445pm. Chick 2 hatched on day 22 around 11am. Its now 5pm on day 23 and there are 4 eggs left that are warm and still wriggling. At what point do I give up on them?

Second Try - wish me luck! - the first chick is here!

Ok, we're now in lockdown since yesterday morning with day 21 being tomorrow evening. The temperature is 99.8-100.5F but I can't get the humidity past 68%. - Should I get a water mister/sprayer and spray some water over the eggs to soften them?

Its Day 11 and I've candled the eggs again. I've tried to take a photo of the eggs that I have questions about. Its tricky to take a decent photo of them! Egg 2. This egg has a single visible dot, but this doesn't move when the egg is turned Egg 4. Not sure if this is a blood ring or...

Second Try - wish me luck! - the first chick is here!

Ok, I've made the adjustments to my incubator and put 18 eggs in on the 1st October. Humidity is sat between 55-58%. I have three thermometers in there (one controls the bulb) and they all say slightly different temperatures so I'm taking the average. The average temperature is holding steady...

    Home-made incubator v2.0 - advice and suggestions?

ok. I've lined the inside of the incubator with bubble wrap to try and limit the amount of moisture the wood can absorb. I've stuck a new bulb in and once its at temperature, I'll stick some eggs in and see how this lot goes.

    Home-made incubator v2.0 - advice and suggestions?

Quote: The marbles are there to stop the peeps falling in and drowning in the shallow tray. The normal humidity with the light on is around 45%, but I don't seem to be able to increase this with trays of water which is why I'm tryng to add a humifier and controller.

    Home-made incubator v2.0 - advice and suggestions?

Quote: It's a digital controller (on top to the incubator in pic one). There's a probe in the middle of the incubator (pic 2). It's set to 37.8 with a 0.3C tolerance.

    Home-made incubator v2.0 - advice and suggestions?

Hi all. I've made some improvements to my home-made incubator (forced air -3rd image, backup thermometer + humdity display) - see pics and I'm looking for suggestions/improvements before I set some more eggs to hopefully hatch this time round. On my last attempt, the humidity was all wrong...

    Not going as planned

They're dead. I've taken a photo of one in case someone can spot something wrong with the chick that is a result of something I've done.

    Not going as planned

I've candled them and they haven't pipped. I'll guess I'll leave them until tomorrow (day 25). If no movement by then are they definately gone?

    Not going as planned

The chick with the cracked egg died at some point during the night. The other 2 eggs still haven't moved since Wednesday night and no sounds or sign of pipping yet and its Day 24.

    Not going as planned

I've took the cloth off as it was starting to dry out and the chick has enough problems without a dry cloth getting stuck to it. There's too much shell gone to cover up a hole with tape. It's made it this far, hopefully it can make it all the way.

    Not going as planned

I've covered the whole egg with a damp piece of cloth (boiled and cooled water) from a first aid kit. I didn't pierce the membrane at all. Quite a large amount of shell was removed and then the white layer peeled back - that was when the chick moved and I realised it was still alive and I'd...

    Not going as planned

Well 10 hours later and the chick is still with us. The membrane around it doesn't seem to be shrinking and its fairly active (moving its head etc). I've increased the humidity in the incubator. No movement at all today from the other two. Is it normal to have loads of movement for about an...

    Not going as planned

Hi all. This is my first hatch and its not going according to the book... I put three eggs in the home-made incubator on 23rd August at 2pm. I've religiously turned them twice a day and the temperature is digitally controlled to be 38.1C. At Day 18 I stopped turning them and candled them for...
