Update on my insane project. In need of dark brown Marans eggs. I have plenty of inner body work to keep me busy while the hen that layed these, lays more. Hopefully, the Mom of this hen wont forget about me and will call when she has more!

Thank you Chicken legs 13 I went ahead and left them in the make shift cardboard brooder box. I think I will get a large rubbermade bin for them until they are old enough to go out to the coop. AND, I will give the coop a more thorough cleaning per your advise. Happy chic baby mommy!

One of my chickens laid an egg w/o a shell. Does that happen often and is there a reason? It is completely intact and you can pick it up, because the "skin" layer is holding it together. Feels like a water balloon.
