I ended up with 18 chicks. 4 Splash (I think 1 roo & 3 pullets) and 14 Blue/Black (it looks like there may be 3-4 roo's out of this batch.) I am so excited!! They are such beautiful chicks!!
I have put day old chicks under a broody before and she has accepted them. It is best to do it at night. If you have eggs that are ready to hatch, I would put them under her and let her hatch them.
Hopefully they will survive long enough for the rest to hatch. Day 21 starts this morning and I have 1 chick out and 4 more eggs pipped with 23 more to still do something. I don't want to open the bator to help them and hurt all the others. Hopefully it all works out well in the end...

Trish, I meant to post this sooner than now, I wanted to thank you for the eggs!! Your shipping is AMAZING!!!! Definitely, the best shipping I have ever received! I have one more week till hatch date, but I candled them and only had to take out 4 of the 33 I got. 2 looked clear and 2 had...
I am thinking 2 girls and 1 boy. I think the one on the right side of the picture with the longer feathers is a girl, the one in the middle is a boy and I "think" the one on the left side is a girl. I can't see her feathers as well as the one on the right.
Do Silver Sussex have slate gray/black legs? I was sold 7 silver sussex chicks. They are about 12 weeks now and 5 of them look proper but two of them look totally different, different body shape, solid black and have dark gray/black legs. I am worried I didn't get what I paid for.
