I would really like some help guys, I feel really bad for this chick, and I really don't know what I should do. I have 3 chicks, 2 lavender ameraucanas and one black ameraucana. However, one of the lavenders is developed than the other, it is almost fully feathered and they are all 4 weeks old...
Today is day 19, and I cannot wait until the chicks will come! I have three eggs that are in lockdown, but there is some yolk on them from another broken egg. It's just a little on maybe two of the eggs, but I don't know whether I should risk cleaning them. How should I clean them off if it's...
Hey, my australorp is on five eggs right now, and I'm planning to keep the chicks in the same coop with the mother, barricaded by some wire so they can't get bullied by the older chickens. When will be a good time to let them mingle? Also I'm a little worried about letting them out of the coop...
I have an australorp who had gone broody and I'm contemplating on whether to let her hatch some eggs. She is very friendly, and wasn't vicious at us when we were trying to take some eggs from her, but I'm not certain if I should let her hatch some. I would really like that, it would be so cute...
1) What type of bird , age and weight: she is a 9 month old silkie, and her weight hasn't changed, that I have noticed.
2) What is the behavior, exactly. She won't eat or drink by herself, she seems sleepy and won't open her eyes
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? I don't know...
My silkie is sick and she won't open her eyes and eat or drink by herself! She's inside the house away fom the other chickens and she's nice and warm. What can I do to help her?
I don't have any suplimental lighting, but I still thought that they would start soon, seeing how they usually lay in winter. I will try the squat test, maybe they're late bloomers...
I have 2 RIR's that are about 7 and a half months old. Their faces are quite red, both of them look as red as other pictures i've seen of laying RIR's. Will they lay soon? Or do i have to wait until spring? Thanks everybody for your help.
These are the new additions of the family!
Going to introduce them to my RIRs, a little nervous though. We had to drive a little over an hour to get there, but it was completely worth it! The buff silkie is 10 months old, the white silkie is 6 months old.
Here's another
This is Cinnamon...
Thanks all of you! I really want to get at least 2 more chickens, but i'm not sure where are the best places to get them around portland oregon... I really want more soon.
