    The Partridge Rock roo is beautiful. They have different shades of brown throughout their plumage, they also have green on their low back and tail.

    I would totally suggest Buff Orpingtons if you are looking for a friendly bird. BOs are also very consistent layers. Rhode Island Reds are very good layers probably one of the top laying breeds, although they are not as friendly. You could also be safe with Silver Laced Wyandottes because...

    Who is the biggest egg layer??

    I do not know which breed lays the biggest eggs, but i do know RIRs are very consistent brown egg layers. The best broody hen that i know of is the BOs. Hope this helps!!!

    We have six SLW and they are all so sweet. I agree that they are not cuddly lap chickens, but mine are not mean at all.

    I agree trying to pick breeds is hard. I would definitely go with orpingtons. Wyandottes are also a good choice. These 2 breeds are great especially if you want some hardy layers. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

    I totally suggest Buff Orpingtons, they so friendly, hardy, and the best of the best mothers!!!! I also suggest any kind of Wyandotte especially the Silver Laced Wyandottes. They are friendly as well and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

    I think my least favorite chicken breed would probably have to be Turkens. I know they have good egg production, but I just can't do the whole naked neck look.

    Our chickens have names based on personality, breed, and coloring. I named all our SLW after flowers. My fav is "Lily." Our EE's are "Bunny" and "Lady Hawk."
