    In memory of Zelda Mae

Yesterday, I experienced the event that pet chicken owners dread, the untimely death of a hen. With that, I figured I'd share some of her history, and how much she meant to me. Zelda was an Astralorp approximately 2 weeks old when we acquired her, by then we had gradually introduced the...

My 9 month old serama cockerel has been showing cold-like symptoms: raspy voice, clogged nose and sneezing. Aside from that he's doing fine. We currently have him in a pet cage near a vaporizor to hopefully help with his nose. What sort of medicane should I give him and at what dosage? (he's...

    Whining Rooster

That's a relief, he always has something going on that it's hard to tell. There's just one other thing I wonder about, when he is picked up he falls asleep instantly, could that be some form of narcolepcy? other then that he eats and drinks often, runs with the flock and so forth.

    Chixkens laying wrinkly tipped eggs

For a while now, our chickens have been laying eggs where the tip is wrinkled, or protrudes a little. I'm just wondering if it's of any concern, or do they need something in their diet.
